How to Make a Mushroom Grilled Cheese Sandwich with Protein Pantry 

 

Ingredients - Serves: 1

  • 4 cheese mushroom tikkis (100 g)
  • 2 slices whole wheat or multigrain bread
  • 1 slice cheese (or 2 tbsp grated cheese)
  • 1 tsp butter (for grilling)
  • ½ onion, thinly sliced
  • Pinch black pepper & oregano


Method:

 

Step 1: Toast the bread lightly on one side with butter. Make sure to not toast the bread too much as we’re going to be grilling the sandwich later on in the process.


Step 2: Begin layering your sandwich with 2 tikkis, onion, and some cheese on one slice.


Step 3: Once layered, add the remaining 2 tikkis and sprinkle with some pepper or oregano to taste. Top with the second slice of your freshly toasted bread. 


Step 4: Finally, grill in a sandwich press or tava until golden and the cheese has melted. This gives it the rich, creamy texture you want in the perfect grilled cheese sandwich.
