High-Protein, Low-Calorie Sweet Potato Tikki Chaat Recipe

The recipe involves yogurt and green chutney to ensure it stays true to its traditional snacky roots without compromising on its protein content. You’re going to need some prep work for this recipe, including whisking half a cup of Yogurt and chopping half an onion and a tomato.

Ingredients for Base:

  • 4 sweet potato tikkis (100 g)
  • ½ cup yogurt (whisked)
  • 2 tsp green chutney (recipe below)
  • ½ onion – finely chopped
  • ½ tomato – finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp pomegranate seeds
  • 1 tbsp sev (optional)
  • ½ tsp roasted cumin powder
  • ½ tsp chaat masala
  • Fresh coriander – 1 tbsp, chopped

Ingredients for Green Chutney:

  • 1 cup coriander leaves
  • ½ cup mint leaves
  • 2 green chilies
  • 1-inch ginger
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • Salt, cumin powder, water

Method:

Step 1: First, we’re going to prepare the Green Chutney by simply blending all the aforementioned ingredients until it’s a fine paste-like texture.

Step 2: Next up, arrange 4 Sweet Potato Tikkies on a plate and proceed to crush them lightly to they’re only slightly mushy. Be careful not to mush them altogether as it would be ideal that they retain some of their original form for that extra crunch in every bite.

Step 3: Proceed to top up your plate with Yogurt and the Greet Chutney. Layer it nicely so each portion of the plate gets equal parts Yogurt and Green Chutney.

Step 4: To up the ante, sprinkle in some onion, tomato, pomegranate, and spices of choice to really turn this into the Chaat we all grew up eating.

Step 5: For the garnish, add some coriander and sev, as much or as little to your preference.

The Sweet Potato Tikki Chaat is now ready and is one of the leanest, high-protein ways to cater to your snack cravings. Plus, this is an awesome and outrageously high-protein snack to serve to your mates the next time they come around for a hangout.
